  • What is @collegeadvising4all?
CollegeAdvising4All is my larger effort to make higher education more accessible for students of color, low income students and other marginalized youth. Incredible students in the New York City public school system are left behind every day because of a lack of training, supporting and coaching of the college guidance counselors who are overworked with caseloads into the hundreds of students. I come across students in predominately white and elite college prep schools who tell me that they have a counselor who doesn't understand them or support them where needed. In my many trips to college admissions events, I noticed that there weren't enough faces that looked liked me or my students and the ones that did were overworked and never given the proper resources. So here I am, with sudden time and boiled up passion with this pandemic and all, looking to address that gap, hoping that our students don't fall farther behind. To join me in my effort to empower youth to get ahead on their college admissions process from home, follow me @collegeadvising4all on Instagram and TikTok!
